Introduction

I am a researcher in the Mobility and Networking Research Group at Microsoft Research, Redmond. My current research interests focus on systems security although I have worked on many aspects of systems research over the years. Most recently, I have been working on understanding the threat of Rowhammer attacks to a cloud provider (1). In the past, together with my colleagues, I shipped a cloud service used by 20+ million users, built the reference implementation of a software TPM (aka the fTPM), and built one of the first face recognition-based payment systems known as Zero-Effort Payments (ZEP). For an overview of my work on building systems that offer strong security guarantees, see (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Prior to coming to Microsoft, I was a faculty member of the Computer Science Department at the University of Toronto. I received my Ph.D. from the Computer Science & Engineering department at the University of Washington.
